Within a mile or two of the sand, paint has a harder job. Salt air and constant marine moisture push coatings off wood faster than anywhere inland, and the first places to go are the fascia, the rake boards, and the south-facing trim.

So on the coast we probe before we quote. Soft boards get cut out and replaced, new stock gets primed on all six sides including the cut ends, and fasteners get set and filled before finish coats. Metal railings and garage doors get the right primer rather than whatever was on the truck.
